“What’s a vlog?”
Hmm. How do I answer my friend’s question in a few words?
“It’s like a blog. But with video.”
Seven words.
I was quite chuffed with that.
He thought for a moment.
“OK… I get that… I know what a blog is… it sounds good.”
“So…” I continued. “That’s what I’ll be doing. And that’s why I shot the video today on my phone. Thanks for taking part in it.”
And that’s what today’s blog (sorry, I mean vlog) is about.
It’s an insight into my fell-walking jaunt with two of my best mates, on a rainy and windswept Cumbrian mountainside.
I know it doesn’t sound as exciting as exploring foreign regions.
And the funny thing is… exactly one year ago, we were in Poland, visiting Auschwitz and the salt mines.
But back then, vlogging wasn’t on my mind.
Last Friday, though, it was, as we climbed up to Helm Crag.
Several hours of activity, climbing through the wind and rain, are packed into little more than 3 minutes of video.
Please write a note below to let me know what you think of my first “vlog”.
And whether you personally prefer video or the written page.
Enjoy!

Thanks Clair. Yeah, we had an amazing time. Even the rain and wind made it great fun.
